The space
The house is 100 years old, a traditional Kominka, 180 m2, 2 floors.
The first bedroom is 8 tatamis size, 4 people maximum(1 double bed, one sofa bed, one single bed)
Equipped with a Work Station(wide monitor and desk space), large screen with projector and HDMI cable(not always set up, so please ask if needed)
Only you, your friend, group or family will be there at once, we won't have other guests except you at the same time.
Very cozy, friendly and warm atmosphere, 4 seasons, it is also the only place in the village with a coffee and lounge space(1st floor) not dealing with pottery.

We renovated this old kominka as a family project during 2019 winter time.
The café is on the first floor and opens on week-ends and national holidays only (from 10:00 to 16:00.)
We were based in Tokyo, we also have 3 other listings there, but we decided to have a place here in Kyushu to get out of the concrete jungle.
So we are on and off here and there.
We renovated the whole place on our own and believed we did a pretty good job, or so we like to think:).
It is a place where you will be able enjoy the atmosphere of a rural Japan village in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere, a very peaceful environment, the soothing sound of the wind bell, a relaxing vibe, a sense of time sleep, the quietness of the evening and the Sound of Silence :), the sunsets and all the great walks within the immediate surroundings not to mention the beautiful places to discover all-around within 35 km radius, so we recommend you rent a car to fully enjoy the region and our place. Check the pictures to see some of our favorite spots in the area.
For the story:(source: ANA-CoolJapan)
Okawachiyama (大川内山) is a small, isolated village in the mountains just outside central Imari. Alongside Arita (in the neighboring valley), it was the first place in Japan to produce porcelain after kaolin - the mineral essential to making porcelain - had been found in the area and craftsmen with the necessary skills had been brought from Korea into the country.

Porcelain was an extremely valuable resource for the local ruler because of its superior quality to contemporary pottery. For that reason, the ruling Nabeshima Clan directly controlled porcelain production at Okawachiyama and built the village well defended and isolated in order to keep the technology secret, earning Okawachiyama the moniker "Village of the Secret Kilns".
The pottery produced in Okawachiyama became known as Nabeshima-yaki and was among the most exclusive.
Enigmatic and mysterious, the ceramic village of Okawachiyama was designated a National Historic Site.
For more info just do some search on the web, plenty to discover.
