Modern Boathouse w/Dock and Private Shoreline

Nomad Validated
NOTE — dock will be upgraded and may not be accessible May-July 2023

A private and modern retreat, this tranquil boathouse overlooking the Bagaduce River and Penobscot Bay was designed and built for a former Dean of Yale's School ofArchitecture.
- Meander through lupines to reach the private shoreline and deep water dock.
- Warm your toes in front of the faux wood stove.
- Climb a set of ship stairs to access the queen bed in the full-height loft and wake to amazing views of the water.

The space
Upstairs, enter a spacious great room with a wall of windows overlooking the water. Warm your toes in front of the faux wood stove, relaxing in the two midcentury modern chairs, the leather chaise or futon. Enjoy a meal at the adjacent dining table, which comfortably seats 6-8 people.

The kitchen is fully outfitted with an oven, refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher and microwave. Because this is Maine, supplies include a lobster pot, crackers, and picks. Afterwards save some shells and cooking liquid to make lobster bisque, ala the NYT’s Sam Sifton!

From the great room, climb the ships stairs to access the loft, which includes a queen sized bed.

Downstairs, the ground floor features two bedrooms (one with a queen bed, the other with a pair of twin beds), a cozy TV room, full bath, and laundry room.

Things to do:
- Rent canoes or kayaks and paddle from the dock to see the seals. The water is cold, so try not to fall in!
- Enjoy lobster rolls at the James Beard award winner Bagaduce Lunch
- Go tide pooling on the rocky beach. A beautiful sea urchin shell makes a great souvenir!
- Bicycle thru beautiful country roads, exploring the quaint towns nearby
- Pick raspberries (July) and blackberries (August) on the property
- Take sailing lessons at one of the local yacht clubs which are open to non-members

Guest access
You will have access to the entire house and property, including a bluestone patio. The house sits on top of a hill which leads down to the dock (shared with our next door neighbor).

Other things to note
