Charming beautiful timber frame farmhouse.
Private and quiet winter home retreat.
Ideal for families, artists, and remote workers.
Close by we have hiking, skiing, yoga, Ayurvedic health classes, shooting sports (hunting, trap, target, and safety courses), snow shoeing, and camping, just to name a few.
We also have waterfalls around the corner, The Egg Performance center in Albany, a waterpark called Zoom Flume only 20 minutes away, and that's just a partial list!
The space
Rustic 1830s farmhouse with original tin ceilings, wood floors, and hardware.
AC units and space heaters available.
Wood for the exterior fire-pit.
Beautiful garden (assuming the season).
Apple trees, black raspberry bushes, fresh air and the sound of the running stream in the yard.
Roses, lilac, and apple blossoms scent the air when blooming.
Wonderful, delicious well water.
Guest access
You will have access to:
1) the living floor/walkout basement with living room, piano room, laundry room (washer + dryer), full bath, and kitchen
2) the main floor with full bath, 1 queen bedroom, 1 2xtwin bedroom, 1 office
3) 2 top floor bedrooms (queen +toddler bed, king bed with desk)
4) yard with patio, bbq, table, chairs, bench, fire pit, vegetable garden, swing and slide playset
All bedrooms have at least 1 empty dresser for your use.
Please restrict ball playing (like golf and baseball) to the lower field or the playground. We had a ball from a guest go through our neighbors storm and exterior window. Honest $350 mistake but; ya know. ;)
Other things to note
Verizon is the only signal in our town, so if you use another carrier be aware you won't have service as you approach (and while in) town. Make sure you've got navigation keyed in while close to the major arteries (87, 90).
The house has WiFi and the TV is hooked up to Apple TV. The dresser under the TV in the play room has an assortment of DVDs (the TVs each have either a separate or integrated DVD player).
The books in the downstairs room are there for you to enjoy and take with you if you like. (Just don’t take more than a couple please.)
The kitchen is stocked with essentials: toaster oven, microwave, 2 coffee makers + coffee and tea, mugs, cups, plates, bowls, pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, an assortment of herbs and spices.
The house is also on 3 Nest thermostats so it’s easy to set the temperature.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an 1830’s country home—we have regular Terminix visits but there’s no silver bullet and the occasional mouse is just a part of country living. If you leave food out on the counters you will attract mice and insects. If you are uncomfortable with this, please do not book our home. We promise we won’t be offended ;)
