The space
THE HOUSE AND OUTDOOR SPACE

Set on 5 acres of land surrounded by trees and ferns, and often visited by deer and fawn, our home is brand new and energy-efficient with modern amenities. This house is designed for both comfort and functionality because we like to spend time here as well. You will have access to:
- A cozy bedroom
- A full bath
- A full kitchen and dining area
- A comfortable living area
- Two workspaces
- A deck with seating (Winter update: we have put away the outdoor furniture due to heavy rains and cold temperatures. We have camping chairs that you can use for the deck if weather permits).
- Free parking on site

Please note:
- The deck and front porch do not have guard rails, although they are only a few inches above the ground.
- You are free to explore the property but be mindful of deer and insects. Bugs, wasps and other insects are most active during the summer.

REMOTE WORK

We have furnished this house for remote working convenience as we also often work here. You will have access to:
- High-speed internet (approx. 200 mbps) by Spectrum.
- Two height-adjustable (standing) desks (to avoid back problems!)
- Office chairs
- One spare monitor (with HDMI connector)

Note that while power and internet connectivity are generally stable, they may be affected by bad weather and other factors outside of our control.

THE BEDROOM AND BATH

Your bedroom is the main bedroom, which has a sliding door that gives you direct access to the deck. While the house has two bedrooms, the smaller bedroom is for our personal use and will be kept locked during your stay (our pricing is based on one bedroom). Your bedroom has the following amenities:
- A queen bed with a 12-inch mattress
- Comfortable seating
- A workspace
- Closet space
- Room darkening curtains for the sliding door
- Blackout shades for the windows.
- Ceiling fan
- Split duct AC/heating unit

The full bathroom has the following amenities:
- Bathtub
- Vanity
- Fresh bath and hand towels
- Basic toiletries
- First aid kit

THE LIVING AND DINING AREAS

We love to hang out in our comfortable living room and we hope you do too!
The living room has the following:
- Comfortable couch and lounge chairs
- Books and games
- Smart TV with the Roku app (no cable, sorry)
- The second work desk
- A split duct AC/heating system for both the living and dining areas.
- A wood stove (please read the instructions for use in the house manual)

We have a full kitchen and dining area to enjoy meals. The kitchen has:
- An induction oven
- Refrigerator with water dispenser (our drinking water is from a well and is filtered)
- Dishwasher
- Microwave
- Toaster
- Coffee maker, french press, and pour-over coffee.
- Coffee, sugar and tea
- Basic spices and condiments
- Pots and pans and cooking utensils to cook light meals

SUSTAINABLE HOSTING

Our house is energy-efficient and we try to host as sustainably as we can. Thus, we offer amenities that minimize waste, conserve energy and water, promote sustainable travel while making sure that guests still enjoy city comforts. We hope our guests also practice sustainable travel by conserving water, recycling, reusing and minimizing waste.

Guest access
OUTDOOR LIFE

We are about 5 minutes drive (or 30 minutes walk) to Skinner’s Falls, which is a jump-off point for activities in the Upper Delaware River. We are a 10 to 15 minutes drive to the picturesque and artsy towns of Narrowsburg and Callicoon. The drive along Rt 97 is scenic and there are spots to stop to view the American Bald Eagles. You can also drive across the river to visit the cute border towns in Pennsylvania, such as Honesdale and Hawley. Bethel Woods, the original site of the iconic Woodstock festival and hosts concerts and performances year-long, is about 20 minutes away. We are about 45 minutes drive from the Big Bear Ski Resort in Pennsylvania. Please see our guidebook for ideas.

DRIVING AND PARKING

We are on a country road and the drive up to our house is winding and uphill. There are no streetlights and evenings are pitch dark. Please be mindful of deer on the side of the road or crossing the road. There are a lot of them but they are harmless. Parking is on the graveled area in front of the house.

OCCUPANCY

This house is ideal for 1 or 2 adults. No additional overnight guests. Please note that we do not have facilities for children under 2 years old and we are not accommodating pets at this time (we can recommend a local dog lodging).
